LACTATION COUNSELOR, BIRTH DOULA & PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi! My name is Tabitha. I have been married for 10 years to the man who always knows I’ve been wanting takeout from a certain spot before I even mention it. We have really grown together and I couldn’t ask for a better partner. We have two beautiful children, Josiah and Elowyn. We live in the south metro and enjoy gardening, DIY projects, and our Peleton app.

I have a passion to help families in navigating their breastfeeding/chestfeeding relationship with their new babies. I strive to educate families the best way I can and empowering them to make their own choices when it comes to feeding their babies. I help with everything to include: latch, positioning, sore/bleeding/cracked nipples, navigating your electric pump, and so much more.

As a birth doula, I really enjoy being a part of the family's experience. Every birth is so different and it’s so important to honor that because every family is different. I love unmedicated births, but I also love helping families going the medicated route. My job is all about providing your family with the information they need to make the best decision for you! I support all of my families the same regardless of what route their birth takes. I love to joke around in early labor and get my clients moving around and using the space the best we can to get baby earth side.

I struggled during my first postpartum journey, so I really strive to help all of my clients (even if they aren’t postpartum) to plan for it! I enjoy helping new families during their postpartum period because a lot of questions come up regarding all things lactation and newborn. It’s a great time to provide education and also provide the help families didn’t even know they needed during birth. We plan so much for birth, but we tend to skimp on our postpartum plan.

I look forward to working with you during your parenting journey.

Bria Florell, LCCE

CHILDBIRTH EDUCATOR, BIRTH & POSTPARTUM DOULA

Hi!  I'm Bria.  I'm a wife and a mama to three little humans.  We live in North Minneapolis and love exploring new foods, camping & hiking, and spending our weekends at the Mpls Farmers Market.

My interest in birth work began after my second baby was born.  My passion is in supporting people in their journey to parenthood.  Everyone wants to hold the baby.... I'm here to hold the parent[s]!

After hearing countless testimonies from birthing people who wish they'd known more before giving birth, I decided to become a doula.  My goal is to INFORM, ASSIST, and EMPOWER pregnant people, so that they go into their birth feeling confident and supported.

As a doula, I support all birth. Whether you're planning a home birth in a tub, or a C-section in a hospital, I'm here for it.  The most important thing to me is that we develop mutual trust, and that you feel comfortable with me by your side.

My personality is pretty type-A, and I love numbers and evidence.  One of my goals as a doula is to make sure my clients always know their options, and understand the risks/benefits of the decisions they make.  This obsession with the science behind birth led me to become a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator, and start teaching our Preparing for Childbirth course.  The course was designed to teach you ALL of your birthing options - not just your hospital's "policies".

Like Tabitha, I also struggled during my first postpartum.  When we focus on birth but ignore postpartum, it's like focusing on our wedding and ignoring the marriage.  But, there aren't enough resources and too many Americans feel our culture doesn't prepare us for postpartum!  This is why I created the Preparing for Postpartum Workshop - I want you to have a game plan to thrive after your baby is born.

I'm excited to connect with you, and work with you during this lifechanging time!

Currently available for September due dates and beyond. Not accepting birth clients with December or January 2023 due dates.

Tabitha and Bria are a great support team for your pregnancy and birth! Despite deciding to hire a doula late in my pregnancy (around week 33!), I was quickly welcomed and supported by both of them to help me learn and prepare for delivery, stay informed about my choices in birth, and prepare for what’s to follow. This was very important to me especially since I was planning a TOLAC/VBAC. Tabitha was amazing at supporting my husband and I during the birth itself too. She helped advocate for my birth plan at the hospital, supported me and my husband during the labor while allowing him to be hands on, and even took the initiative to help us reposition baby when my labor stalled out. My biggest regret is just that we didn’t hire Bright Earth Doulas earlier in the pregnancy!
